Yes. French language is on the verge of "dying"<g> so French gov. should save its own culture, no doubt about that. But from the view of the efficiency of languages, there is some reason for that. Say you only need to know 2,000-3,000 English words to deal with everyday life, but you need to know 5,000-6,000 French words to deal with everyday life. In this case, Chinese is more efficient. You only need to know 1,000 or so words to deal with everyday life. That is why some Europeans said 21th century the computer language should be Chinese. although I don't think it will happen <g>.
