COGNICASE Announces Strategic Partnership with Bombardier Tansportation MARCH 15, 1999 MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA- -COGNICASE Inc. (NASDAQ: COGIF) announces a multi-year important contract from Bombardier Transportation for the technological adaptation of its core manufacturing information systems to support its operations in China. Under the agreement, COGNICASE will assist Bombardier Transportation in the technological adaptation of its core manufacturing system to multilingual capabilities, client/server, UNIX open architecture and relational data base using COGNICASE's productive NatStar(TM) systems development platform. This system is to support Bombardier Transportation operations in China related to a recent Cdn$550 million contract awarded to a Bombardier-Power Corporation of Canada-Sifang joint venture to manufacture up to 500 passenger rail cars per year in China. In addition, COGNICASE will enjoy for the next three years a preferred position for meeting Bombardier Transportation's IT consulting services requirements.
