Merlo,

Intel is being punished for dragging the entire tech sector down with their predatory pricing. Look at the damage they caused AMD.

I have had a low opinion of Intel since they invented the miserable x86 architecture, but the last few weeks they have shown their true colors in a fashion never before seen.

Re: "Intel is being punished for dragging the entire tech sector down with their predatory pricing. Look at the damage they caused AMD. "

You guys crack me up. First you guys complain that Intel's prices are too high, that they're ripping off the consumer. You claim the K6 is cheaper to manufacture and nobody complains when AMD uses predatory pricing to grab market share from Intel. When Intel responds to the consumers needs by passing along the benefits of improved manufacturing efficiency you start whining again. Intel can sell at these lower prices and still make money on each and every unit. If AMD can't who's fault is that?

Bottom line is you will whine regardless of what Intel does. Price high, price low, you will still whine.

I hope Intel is happy now knowing they could be putting thousands
of people out of work in many smaller semi-conductor companies. Most smaller Companies are having a tough time trying to keep up with Intel's predatory lowering of CPU prices every few months. This
is a perfect case for the FTC to investigate. Several web sites are
now operating concerning the I.D. chip plus one concerning
past and present employees of Intel. Use the Alta Vista search engine
to find them. The tech's are taking a beating since Intel started
this price war.

Just my opinion,
Merlo
