Puts, are great I've never shorted a stock but I've been buying puts in a fast market quite a bit in late August September and now in February I've begun as well. I just sold a daytrade put on RNWK and pulling the trigger on my YHOO puts. I don't want subscribers to be involved with options at this point or to think that they are 'easy and worry free'. Of course in SI we can and do mention the occasional option buy. I usually add an index option but today I was too busy to track the indexes. As for a chat room, I am particularly not in the market for one as I find it extremely hard to balance trading and chatting. It's just not worth losing the potential trading gains. I've been asked to host a chat room by 2 discount brokers and share one with a popular stock selection site that has one but I've refused. I am thinking of attaching a chat room to either Market Gems or Silicon Investor but I would not be able to participate. Options, I like to steer away from more than 5 a month as a discipline I've self-imposed since over indulging in options in 1997.
