As we come into the last half hour 3com is at its low for the day. This stock repeats this pattern every dau as more people sell and sell and sell.

Joe,
We are in general agreement about the current condition and prospects of COM$.

Some Points about some of yours posts today:

Back-end loaded quarters
I raised this issue several quarters ago this thread. I was a bit concerned about Mgmt explanation that a quarter is back-end loaded. This problem stems once again from COM$ product mix and distribution channels. Every quarter is back-end loaded for COM$. They need to figure out ways to smooth this. It was discussed in Last CC.

Seasonally weak quarters
COM$ used this excuse in Q1 and now again in Q3. Same points as above. Product mix and channels dictating revenue flow. Again they need to smooth this. Perhaps a change in their Fiscal Qtrs to reflect the Calendar quarter would help on both these counts. But they need to focus on smoothing revenues between and within their quarters.

AT&T contract
We've been waiting forever for this. COM$ should be more aggressive in pursuing a commitment from AT&T.

PR
PR is more than just releasing press releases. We may be PR'd to death because we pay attention to news from COM$. The Measure of PR is the mindshare the company can attain. A recent example was the recent mindshare wins by CSCO when it announced it was going after the AT&T biz where COM$ is ahead of them in product trials etc. It also took away 3COM's home computing thunder with its aggressive announcements. 3Com's only response was "this is our home turf" - which does not prove to non-believers that it will win. Increased Mindshare results in more people paying attention to the message and press releases thus understanding the story and buying the stock.

Again,
I am positive about COM$, looks like we may go into averaging down territory soon - so I may have to take advantage of this.
