I personally waiting for the other "short strategy" gold shoe to fall:

You see, when big money, the ilk of JP Morgan, G/Sachs, M/Lynch, Republic Bank, etc., is on the wrong side of a solid, rally building base in Gold,
one of 2 things will happen:
1) a locals led washout will be engineered to allow them out, making it a No, this isn't the final bottom in gold.

or
2) a "money talks" arrangement will surface, where by cash is exchanged to cover the "damages" of the trapped shorts, ala LTCM bailout, making this a "Yes, this IS the final bottom in gold."

Pays yer money and takes yer chances.

I personally am looking for numero uno, but know about #2 as having been the recent poison o'choice, so am alert.

One thing I'm VERY certain of is this:
history is replete with final washouts--I'm on record for looking for 198ish on a downside deathrides-- being of extremely short duration!

If and when one sees one of those...back up de truck!
