Similar situations have occurred in the past. When Amazon.com (AMZN) went public in 1997, a company called Amazon Natural Treasures with the "AMZN" ticker symbol saw its stock nearly tripled.

Imagine all those people who bought AMZN who thought they were getting shares in a new on-line bookstore but, in reality, got, well, got AZNT. So, instead of their investment being worth hundreds per share, it's languishing at a buck!

Article is incorrect. With the 1000 share purchase at day end, the stock closed at $1.00. I would have been very surprised had it closed at .78...

I do not recall in the court transcripts or the filings any mention of the AMZN confusion and share price increase for AZNT...

As is likely to happen in this case, the bulletin board company must give up its ticker symbol a day before the bigger company goes public on the Nasdaq National and Small-Cap markets. Amazon Natural Treasures (AZNT-BB), for instance, now trades under "AZNT" for less than a buck.

Funny, you'd think a guy from 3Com would post an URL instead of "big copy 'n' paste". Maybe they don't "do" internet stuff at 3Com <heh heh>:

“When Amazon.com (AMZN) went public in 1997, a company called Amazon Natural Treasures with the "AMZN" ticker symbol saw its stock nearly tripled…Amazon Natural Treasures…now trades under "AZNT" for less than a buck.”

And you gotta wonder—whose fault is it that people mistakenly bought AMZN not knowing about the "Lemonade Stand"—then realized the truth and dumped it for the PoS that AZNT really is? Hey, Mr. Market sez it's only worth a buck—and he's being generous.

Maybe Mikey should add the entire stock market to the "Big Suit"? lololol!! And Rico, 'now' typically means 'now'. Get it?
