If I have to start crying again to get the stock moving up... Sector, ""Moran said the fundamentals for the Internet sector remain positive and he expects the decline to be "temporary," though he could not suggest how long the correction would persist. He said the sector needs positive news to thrive. With the earnings season past and the stock market as a whole not performing well, that could be difficult unless the news improves. "" From the Street.com """With the earnings season past and the stock market as a whole not performing well, that could be difficult unless the news improves. "" From the Street.com""" This sounds to me like De ja' vu...all over again. It seems that MRV's reporting earnings late in the season has been a significant handicap for this stock. We all know why they report late and discussion here is never going to change anything...but, just for the sake of "why don't they", why don't they , for some selected quarter just decide to end Fibronic's (in Israel) share of earnings early. Of course this would, on first blush, show a sudden drop in earnings to the uninformed. Then management could include the earnings of Fibronic's in the next quarter, which would inflate that quarter's earnings, then they would be able to change their earnings date to be included with the majority. I am not forgetting that they would still have to have significant positive things to report for the stock to appreciate but how many negative coincidences do we need to see that the late reporting has negatively affected the stock for a long time. If they had terrific things to report it shouldn't make any difference...you say ? Does anyone remember when things were going well with the stock's price at earnings report time and the market was going in the other direction? And the stock still appreciated, anyway? Please, someone out there should be able to give us an example of how MRV performed well and reported significant earnings increases during a bear market or correction. This comes up every quarter. I just am growing weary of "bad luck". John I am aware that Dell is scheduled to report the same day as MRV. Maybe, just maybe...
