CD&L to Enter Fast-Growing Internet,
Catalog Shopping Sector; Will Supply
Essential Customer Delivery Services

PR Newswire - February 09, 1999 13:37

CLIFTON, N.J., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Consolidated Delivery and
Logistics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDLI) announced today it plans to aggressively
expand its residential delivery operations in response to the explosive growth
in Internet and catalog shopping.

CD&L will begin this expansion early in 1999, offering alternative
transportation solutions to Internet and catalog companies in specific cities
where the company presently performs home deliveries.

"The strategy will be to provide a customized service for the growing number
of deliveries going to individual homes as a result of the nationwide explosion
in Internet purchasing. Customers and shippers are eagerly looking for
speedier, more efficient alternatives to carriers that currently provide this type
of service. We believe we can offer economic and service advantages to
businesses selling over the Internet and through catalogs," said Albert W. Van
Ness, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer.

"Presently, CD&L provides home delivery service for many direct-sell
companies and catalog shoppers in specific markets. This new initiative will
be a natural extension of our current operations in these markets," said
William T. Brannan, president and chief operating officer of the company.
"We believe the growth in e-commerce and purchases made over the Internet
will provide the volume and density needed to expand our geographic
coverage," he added.
