However, he never, ever criticizes my cooking, or my housekeeping or most importantly, my investment mistakes.

Investment mistakes? You make investment mistakes?

Come now penni. You have opined previously that Dan engages in uncommonly subtle means of self-expression. Nary a Spock-like raise of the eyebrow? Nary the subtlest of throat clearings or eye rolls as you walk him through the kill zone of the monthly statements? I am indeed impressed. On my own side, the most I ever hear is something to the effect of, "maybe this year we should own more mutuals."

OK, you are making me appreciate my husband's finer qualities. He took down the Christmas tree this year all by himself, and recycled it. He would never leave a saw outside. He used to mistreat his tools, by which I mean putting them away dirty and disorderly, but I bitched about it for years, and all of a sudden I noticed that he had bought his own tool box and was keeping his own tools better than he ever kept our mutual tools. I was miffed for a while, but I got over it. He is the type of guy who keeps his LPs and CDs alphabetically shelved, by category. I don't do that, but I clean off my tools before I put them away. Now he does, too.
