X,
I have an old bottle with a pointed bottom that had to be laid on the side to keep the cork wet. Interested? I'll start the bidding for this rare glass at $100! A fella I used to work with has a very impressive collection of old gramophones (sp?), the kind that had interchangeable cylinders instead of the record.

Bob

"Old cast iron variety"! I'll have you know that I use a cast iron frying pan pretty much every day of my life. I have one that I have used for thirty years, and it wasn't new when I got it. Works beautifully. I have learned, over the years, that a cast iron dutch oven isn't a good idea, at least not for beans and stews and other boiled dishes, it blackens them and that may be healthy (iron) but it doesn't taste good. But the frying pan works fine.

X,

Being from the Erie Pennsylvania area........I have read your posts where you commented about Griswold cast ironware......

This area if full of it. I used to collect a good bit of it. But the was B.C. (before children) Now I spend more time cooking with it as opposed to collecting it!!!

Used to love to go to Auctions. Still do like going to them.....just not much time to do so.
