One of the most valuable things I have learned after a few years of trading is not to fight the market. I generally just chill out when the market looks bad (unless I am shorting..which is not often). Bought PAIR today as a position play...and stayed on the sidelines otherwise. Its one thing to make money..another to avoid losing it. I have had some substantial losses...sorry to hear about Jay's LCOS loss. Restraining myself during down markets has gone a long way for me,in cutting down on losses.
