That's awful. It is highly likely that the law surrounding mutual funds will be changed dramatically in the coming yrs after this disaster is over requiring many more options. To limit you to stocks or stocks is an abomination. When workers' retirments used to be primarily in pention funds.. where they limited to just stocks or one bond fund? NO.

That's ridiculous. I'd complain to your benefits person.

Check more closely. I think the MUST offer you a cash safe haven. I have been at three differnt companies. Never seen a 401K plan that doesn't.
