The most heartening thing about this affair is that the Republicans seem to be intent on harping about this even after the Senate trial is over...

Hello, hello! -- this President's term is more than half-way through. And it is time to look for a new President!

The Republicans will realize it, but it will be too late! They are so dominated by their rabid hatred that it is simply consuming them.

Ruff represented Senator John Glenn in the Keating Five scandal, which resulted in a Senate Ethics Committee finding that the Ohio Democrat broke no law or Senate rule but exercised poor judgment in aiding a savings and loan owner.

Ruff also represented Senator Charles Robb when a federal grand jury declined to charge the Virginia Democrat in a political eavesdropping investigation during the early 1990s.

He conceded in opening arguments that a reasonable person might conclude that Clinton testified falsely. He also claimed that it wasn't perjury since you have to prove an "intent to lie". Give me a break. There's sort of a don't ask, don't tell rule with Congressmen assisting people like Keating also. As long as they can cover their ears, they don't have to be held accountable. Plausible deniability, once again.

What are Ruff's credentials? Wasn't he the one who got John Hinckley Jr. acquitted of putting a bullet in a president's chest? Or was that the other scumbag Clinton lawyer?
