I agree with you that this should not happen. I encourage you to complain to Etrade about it. If it is a bad fill they will generally correct it - I had five trades corrected last year under similar situations. Generally if you can show them that when you placed the order the stock was at X price, and they gave you a fill quite a bit worse than that you will get it corrected. Two of those corrections by Etrade were for Option orders but that should not make a difference.

Where you will run into trouble is if the fill is say within a percent or two of what it was when you clicked the mouse. Those sorts of trades I have never gotten a correction on. The JBOH trade however sounds like one you will get a correction on.

Remember, if you do not complain you will NEVER see a correction. Apparently some on this thread have no problem with this, but I do.
