George, thanks for your points and decorum.

Today was rough in the market, and the nonsense being written on these threads probably reflects frustration as much as real belief, but I grow very tired of vulgarity wrapped in cleverness re the President, etc.

Cable-based speed must be grand. Expect you're right that they lead the pack just now. But, the home user in search of more bandwidth has had little choice other than cable, and that only in some areas. What if you could have tried, say, G-lite ADSL over your old modem phone line at 500 or 750 kb?

My bet, for several months now, on PAIR derives from persuasion that a revival of Plain Old Telephone Service copper wire will still be A winner, not THE winner necessarily, but A winner in the effort to satisfy growing demand for this technology. PAIR may have been a wrong choice, in spite of their balance sheet strength and long record in the business, given their abominable management of late. Hopes are high for new CEO, Mr. Pascoe, but the lack of news well into the new year is troubling. I will stick with them for several more months as they test and persuade vis a vis Avidia (sic); I think it could be a winner if given a fair hearing versus the competition.

Bottom line: why shouldn't this former leading company succeed in the future of this industry? Let's play PAIR a bit longer.

Cheers
David
