Thanks Walt,I saw on the news tonight that Yellowknife got its first traffic lights 19 years ago today. WAHOO !!! You are probably not long enough in the beard to remember that I'll bet!<<gg>>Is it true that when ice roads come off the lake onto land they are made to meet the shore on an angle to prevent damage?
gg

cmc.ec.gc.ca - nice and cool. How's ice quality, was there much snow on Snap Lake before it froze? .. got that url from -
cmc.ec.gc.ca - which was listed under Weather on this url that Mr B of FBN just sent me - searchcanada.ca ... quite useful, new site, looks like ... here's their weather list - searchcanada.ca

Ah, NWT news - nnsl.com - where searching with <walt humphries> gives - nnsl.com
... and several others, while searching with <winspear> only gives one -
nnsl.com
... well i guess we know who rates in the north, eh

Bunkhouses ...... [they don't call them bunkhouses up there?] ... yeah, bunkhouses and stoves - On the coast we got progressive in the 50s and replaced the wood stoves with Coleman drip oil stoves, with those tricky little carburetor things that stuck out on one corner at the bottom so you could stub your toe on it. Well, they didn't work all that well, the float would get stuck full on or full off. Full off was better since that way you just got cold, it didn't light the shack on fire. There was always room away from the stove to hang wet clothes, but it took longer that way and somebody was always in a hurry to dry something, so the smell of scorching cotton or the wool of Stanfields was fairly common. Mostly it was gloves, you'd lay them on the grill and then forget about them as they don't stick up much and they're not worth that much anyway. So they'd get real dry and maybe one finger would slip down through the grill to touch the barrel and just when you were least expecting it, poof.

So they should be drilling in the morning maybe? ...... cheers ..... macros

Walt,

<<Heres a little info for the WHAT ITS WORTH FILE"
As of the weekend 85 trucks had made the trip, they expect around 1500 in all>>

Your info is worth a whole lot to us, don't forget that.
Just wondering if there was much talk or buzz about Winspear up in Yellowknife?

Thanks Walt,
BB
