you make a good case for dell by comparing to
the alternatives in THE growth industry for
the next ??years. cpq, gtwy, ibm: i don't
think so.

2 big reasons for remaining 60% of households
to buy computer now (i-net) putting my money
on dell. figure they will attract lions
share of households seeking to upgrade as well.

of above competitors only cpq seems a threat...
unlikely that newcomer poses threat. am i missing
a key competitor?

Good post.
Not much talk about splits anymore though.
Can a split be announced at any time, say just when the board of directors meet, even if its not when earnings are announced?
Thanks,
RM

Good post, your Felineship. When you praise Dell I take it seriously, as I know it's based on objective analysis. We're having Pacific Northwest conditions in the Bay Area this week (though a bit warmer). I hope you're keeping your paws dry.

Chuzz, some Dell newbie questions: over the next 2-3 years, do you think that Dell be primarily growing/competing/consolidating in the US market, or will they be focusing more on the overseas market? And will their focus shift from PC sales to servers and other products?
