Yep, I read about the port problem in the past... I don't know if they got it fixed in this newer board though (you would think so), was Jon refering to the new board?

It's tough finding a piece of technology that works 100% of the time, especially as you plug-in the next generation of i/o boards and software... they tend to trip things up.

eg: Reading back though news group posts of the Asus P2B-S I saw a reference to a 'Photoshop power-under' problem that kept coming up... when the CPU got very busy (Photoshop graphics in particular) it would draw lots of juice causing one of the power busses on the board to drop low causing problems... Asus had to recall boards and solder-on a capacitor and another part.

I also noticed that Asus has been issuing a beta Bios about every other week for it's boards lately...trying to squish bugs I guess (but its good to know programmers are busy at work)

So, even though the Abit BX6-2 is 'Version 2' it is still a significant redesign with it's own surprises.

Hope I find all the problems during the warranty <G>.
