Michael, MSFT has turned stronger(& MF improved) since the Monday announcement. It makes sense. If you were a long-term investor in the stock would you buy MSFT because it announced a stock split or a major restructuring plan?

>>>Do you see AOL's split on 22th as a trigger for the next leg up of big internet stocks?

I don't think so.

You've been in the market for many years and you know that in the last few years we've never had as many splits or as much excitement about splits. Stupid, right? I think the split excitement is over for now.

Here is a long sentence!!!

I think what the net stocks have been saying in the last six weeks is that "this year" we shouldn't expect any leg-up to be as strong in terms of % or as long in terms of time frame as what these stocks were capable of doing last year.

Almost all of them have already been discovered and pushed up to the sky.

With stocks like ATHM, BRCM,... there could be some excitement around the time AT&T & TCI merger is closed.............

As far as the rest of the market, we need to get thru this short-term fear of rising rates and once again cherish the thought of having a strong economy, low inflation, etc.....
