I have some thoughts regarding the 3Com Siemens NN trilogy. To be a major supplier for the new bundled broadband telco industry you need the complete package. 3COM space [LAN/ personal connectivity], the most powerful flexable ATM backbone in the industry NN, combined with the marketing size and influence of one of the worlds largest conglomerates makes me think that this trinity could take all involved to the next level. To compete with LU, Cisco, TLAB, etc takes a complete product offering.

About 3Com

With more than 200 million customers worldwide, 3Com Corporation connects more people to information in more ways than any other networking company. 3Com delivers innovative information access products and network system solutions to large, medium and small enterprises; carriers and network service providers; PC OEMs; and consumers. 3Com -- More connected.

Pat it seems to me the relationship is headed for primetime. What form it will take jv consolidation or some combination makes sense to all involved.

Norden

I'm not sure why, but I'm also suspecting something is
changing in the 3Com/Siemens/Newbridge relationship.
Almost seems that something *has* to make to bond together
tighter due competitive pressures.

Any thoughts on this?

Lots. Even though I can't say how it'll play out, I'm sure it'll be positive for everyone involved.
