<<Americans can believe he lied and still believe he did not commit
perjury. >>

In there hearts, they KNOW he committed perjury, del. They just don't think it's impeachable when committed in relation to this subject matter. JMHO.
You seem as blind to the problems Democrats face as I perhaps am to the problems Republicans face. Democratic "old" money may well be disgusted that the party would defend a President such as this. I know personally many older Democrats are REALLY disgusted that the party defends this President at all.

Here we have a hundred Democrats recently voting for a censure resolution in the House, then an hour later they are all out at a pep rally cheering the man they would censure...very curious indeed. The masses know Clinton is a lout(check the polls), and Dems rallying around that lout is not a pretty picture. Do Democratic leaders fully appreciate the notion that Clinton is morally absent? The Public sure does.

There will be more "bimbo eruptions" in the news. The polled masses aren't going to enjoy it and may well wish the President had been long gone.

At any rate, over the last 50 years, when have Republicans held both houses of Congress? Your bet that they'll lose them has pretty good odds even without these events, especially if a Republican President is elected.
