WHAT are you talking about. Why don't you read yesterdays PR and rethink your stand on PAIR. It would seem they have arrived at the ADSL party. MarkC.

Lea, I keep hearing that ADSL is available but even with standards being set I don't believe at this time you can put many ADSL circuits side by side in a cable. Especially if the end users are all at different lengths in that cable. Even if you could, a vast majority of ISP's do not want to provide xDSL service at rates affordable to residential offerings because of their inherent costs. I think 256k is going to be a typical offering and if that's the case, WHY would anyone want Asymmetric service. I would want 256k both ways.

Yes, ADSL is available in the Raleigh, NC area from Bellsouth. In fact I applied for it but, poor old Alcatels equipment just couldn't reach me. I was told by bellsouth that 3 out of 4 phone lines into my local church would support the ADSL service.

Lea, have you been asleep for the last 4 months? I am always amazed at the posts on this board and that other msg board. Have you visited the pairgain web site to see what their product line is? Two words falcon and avidia! Come on people please think before you post.......

"I held on to PAIR for quite a while hoping that they can adopt ADSL
quickly. But each time I read their latest product release, I only saw how they improve their HDSL technology. I gave up the wait and sold it for a loss to avoid even bigger losses..."

Have you considered CD's?

Here's to Preferred's Capitals indication of Pairgain releasing a massive news blitz about products and contract wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me, but apparently you don't realize just how educated this board is on the various xDSL technologies. You also don't seem to understand that PAIR is the creator of the Falcon chip which is ADSL technology at it's finest. The problem isn't with the technology. It's with the management.
