Bob,

I am simply making opinions on what I read this morning. The Analyst might have developed a following over the years. But I am telling you that what I read from him today was 75% garbage. Most of his predictions were "I say this and you simply have to believe me". No supporting opinons or facts to back up his predictions.

I have seen people like this in the industry as well. They are followed so closely that anything they predict is a self-fulfilling prophacy. They eventually fell by the wayside.

He may be an Analyst that cannot believe that MSFT actually has some rough times ahead of it. The Y2K and Java issues introduce a dynamic that he does not either respect or fully understand.

I called that MSFT would start noticing rough times by the end of 1998. I have to admit that I was too early on that prediction since I thought the DOJ trial would have started and ended quicker. But there is no escaping the Y2K. And the predictions on NT5 delays and the continual dropping of feature commitments is coming true. Also, the Banyan alliance is a very large sign that MSFT is thrashing big time on its Active Directory.

The rough times are ahead. I know you all dont believe it. So you can just ignore this posting.

Again Bob, I appreciate that many of you might have based many investment decisions on this man and thats great. I am simply developing opinions on his recent analysis - it sucked!

Cheers Bob and the rest of the MSFT board.
