The Democrats will be fine in 6 months.

Dan,

I do believe you are correct in this assessment. And they'll do more than fine in the next election if they play their cards right. The GOP keeps serving up fat slow pitches and if the Dems don't hit it out of the park, they've only themselves to blame.

What some of the pro-impeachment supporters here don't understand is that many of the 2/3rds on the other side don't like Clinton either. I certainly don't, and I detest socialist policies, but I detest sexual inquisitions even more. Clinton is a cad, but Starr and his RR supporters are something far more distasteful, IMO.

As for Falwell trying to "out" Tinky Winky, the filthy sodomite teletubby drag queen, it's precisely stories like this that the public views as proof that the GOP is controlled by religious nutcases. The laudable goals of downsizing government, reducing taxes and regulations, etc., are lost in the midst of attempted theocratic social engineering.

Although I don't much care for Hustler, (Playboy's a much classier mag), I'll take Flynt over Falwell any day of the week. He might be a sleazebag, but he's also not attempting to censor away my freedoms.

Regards, JB

Daniel, much more is at play here than Drudge. It is comforting to believe that it is all so trivial and tawdry, and that conservatives are either crazy, fools, evil, or subject to irrational hatreds. That is too often the premise of your posts, even to me, although I get at least some respect. But Clinton's problems are Clinton's fault, not ours, and they are by no means over this week....
