Baker Hughes sees Q1-Q2 revenues below Q4

NEW YORK, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Baker Hughes Inc. expects revenues to decline in
the first and second quarters of 1999 from the $1.42 billion revenues in 1998's final
quarter, Chief Financial Officer Eric Mattson said Wednesday.

Mattson told the PaineWebber Energy Conference the company expects revenues will
flatten out in the third quarter and start to rise by the end of the year as oil rig operating rates recover.

''We think, perhaps, the bulk of the revenue decline is behind us,'' he explained. Revenues totaled $1.57 billion in the fourth
quarter of 1997.
