TC,

This market has just converted me into an "investor" in three stocks, 2 of which I had no intention of "investing" in. Now, I'm wait and see. Hate it!

Ken

BEFREIND THE TREND SHORT RECOMMENDATIONS:

I've just taken a long look at a long list of potential short candidates, and have come up with the following list of recommendations. To find these I used two of the screens available on the Sapphirebay page (what a GREAT find!), and then checked them on technical charts using the following indicators: MACD, CCI, OBV and Stochastics. Regular readers of the BTTT thread should note that I could not control the parameters of the indicators, and so you may see contrary indications if you use our regular settings on the timely charts (Stochastics, for example, were set at a much longer period on the Sapphirebay charts, and hence will not be supported by the timely.com setting).

In all cases, I was looking for price/oscillator divergence, indicating a trend reversal. All of the following selections have PE ratios between 50-200, all are priced between $15 and $35, all have average volume of 100k+, and all have been in midterm uptrends which, according to the indicators, have either stalled or turned south.

The selections are ranked accordingly:

*** = all oscillators in agreement, no red flags on the chart
** = all oscillators in agreement, some concern with chart formations
* = all oscillators in agreement, some concern with chart formations, support near, may want to wait for a breakout.

PLEASE DO YOUR OWN DD ON THE FOLLOWING SELECTIONS:

*** HLYW, VRTY, XEIKY

** CD, OSI, UTR

* CLFY, NOVL

Let's check back in about one week on these to see how they have done. As for myself, I plan to look for reasonable entries in the top six. As of 6:45 am, the markets are set to open neutral to modestly up.

PS: I welcome all comment, pro or con, on the preceding list.

Good luck to all of us, TC.
