Michael,

Note at the bottom of the article you've mentioned for BRK stock holdings is 13F information from the 3rd quarter of 1998. Should be reasonably up to date although I quite certain (WEB stated at 1998 annual meeting) that all McDonald's shares have been sold.

Don't think anyone knows about the silver BUT (IMHO) I don't think WEB would have made that purchase for short-term gains. My opinion is that BRK still has every ounce that was originally purchased.

Don't know anything about Chubb but it sure wouldn't surprise me if WEB is looking at more insurance acquisitions although it also wouldn't surprise me that BRK is working on digesting all the new FLOAT from GRN. Who can say?

I also think WEB think the present stock price of BRK is undervalued given the discussions with the stock analyst at Paine-Webber. If he's looking at using some stock he's likely to wait until the price appreciates to a more reasonable level.

On the other hand, WEB prefers to make acquisitions with CASH. The deal with GRN required shares so I assume he must have REALLY liked the deal we got.

hang in there and later, leroyt

No, because that one list i posted the link to: it is under some sort of guise of a 'secret' SEC listing, that can remain a 'secret' for one year, then it becomes public knowledge. I guess we can see the 'secret' 1998 holdings in late 1999. WEB said he sold most of his Silver holdings a year ago. He said this at the stockholder's meeting in May 1998.
