Power mixed with stupidity (i.e. terrible ad, poor placement) is a very unappealing combination to customers and investors. Especially when the power is simply a function of spending money.

ANYONE with cash to blow can buy a super bowl ad. It requires no special knowledge, experience, connections, customers, or anything. Do you think hotjobs.com has power because they bought an ad?

Do you think anyone other than a very, very small subset of investors and some potential customers even noticed or thought about it? Out of the thousands of SI readers/posters, how many are paying attention? 6 or 7? and we are very pre-disposed to debate this area, simply as a matter of curiosity.

In fact, I'm not sure why I'm even involved anymore in this discussion, other than because I'm killing 5 minutes before a conference call and because it's kinda fun.
