Excuse me, I'm sure you know much more than M. Dell about the future prospects of his firm. DELL and ATHM will be excellent long-term holds, regardless of ice and shuffleboard and other assorted examples you may use.

<We already hit the ice berg and you are talking about shuffle board scores.> I like this analogy, but remember even on the Titanic there were survivors who went on to prosper. I feel anybody trading in this market whether short or long is asking for trouble. Just find good quality companies, whose products and plan are continually viable and I'd bet in five years time you'd come out way ahead of the large majority of day traders and quant guys. I just read Jesse Livemore's book, and even someone as skilled as him succumbed to some devastating losses. I wonder how that trader did in the crash of '29?
