Mexican shares edge down on Brazil concerns, Dow

MEXICO CITY, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Mexican shares edged
down in early trade on Wednesday, brought lower by initial
falls in Wall Street stocks and in Brazil's Bovespa, traders said.

The IPC index of 35 leading shares was 0.181 percent lower at 3939.78 points in dull trading.

''The market is quiet and will follow the Dow (industrials) and Brazil,'' said a trader.

Sao Paulo's Bovespa (^BVSP - news) opened 0.9 percent lower but then reversed direction
to gain 0.84 percent to 8746 points. The Dow also fell at first before clawing its way back into
positive territory, up 0.49 percent to around 9177 points.

Volume was moderate at 7 million shares while on the broad market, out of 47 active issues,
20 had fallen and 18 risen.
