<< And BTW you know very well the reason the Dems wanted the debate in open today is so they can stand up with their little ready made speeches about how terrible Bill is and how awful they feel ... >>

You might be right about this. But, if, as you imply, that the Republicans are scared of the Democrats making speeches, it means that the Republicans didn't think that they could do better than the Democrats, on the floor of the Senate, even though the Republicans are in the majority?

Of course, both can give speeches in front of the news staffs outside the Senate doors, so, regardless of Republican tactics, the Republicans are totally incapable of stifling Democrat free speech.

But, yet again, the Republicans turned tail and decided to hide, in the dark, behind the closed doors of the Senate.

Sounds like an awful poor reason for the Republicans to hide from the public.

Are you sure that they were afraid of what the Democrats had to say?

I am amazed at the Lemming Republicans on this thread. You are blindly following your Republican leaders, as your leaders are cowardly leaving you behind the closed doors of the Senate.

Can you possibly feel good about shutting the public out of the Senate debates? What are you afraid that the public will hear?

Is there at least ONE self thinking Republican on this thread that wanted the hearings out in the open? Is there one Republican on this thread that believes that government should not hide behind closed doors.

Here in Florida we have "sunshine laws" that force our government to work out in the open. Yet Senator Connie Mack, from Florida, voted to hide these Senate hearings in the dark. Is Connie Mack afraid that the people of Florida, who elected him, will see something that they won't like?
