Clearly, most of the opposition posters are intelligent and reasonably well- informed. I even take Daniel at his word when he says that he has no great love for Clinton. But Mario Cuomo spelled it out a few months ago on Geraldo--- what is at stake is not just Clinton, but the future of the Democratic Party, which is the primary vehicle for liberalism. Therefore, whether or not they admire Clinton, liberals are obliged to fight this tooth and nail, lest the "forces of reaction" benefit from it. That is why NOW has been so uncharacteristic in its behavior. As Daniel keeps (revealingly) reiterating, they are viewing politics as "blood sport", and consoling themselves with the (erroneous) view that we started it.... Bill's big draw is that he is the "Not- Newt", the finger- in- the- dike against TP's nightmarish "Radicals"--- me and thee...
