Portfolio Manager Sees Tech-Stk Dip As Chance To Buy Cheap

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--As investors deal blows to technology stocks, Kevin Landis, portfolio manager for FirstHand Funds, is using volatile dips in those shares as an opportunity to buy.

'It's been a while since we've had a year of calm sentiment,' Landis sand in a CNBC interview Wednesday.

His picks among technology-sector leaders include Intel Corp. (INTC), PMC-Sierra Inc. (PMCS), Lucent Technologies Inc. (LU) and Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO).

In addition, Landis' firm has holdings in Guidant Corp. (GDT) and Medtronic Inc. (MDT), issues he considers undervalued.
