That's because we don't kill enough people. And I don't like to pay anybody for anything- but if I HAVE to pay then I want to pay to keep children not yet criminals that way, I want to see my money spent on people that do not disgust me- I do not like the idea of pouring money down a gopher hole. Resources are finite- I think one should spend them where one can do the most good. I like immunization programs and prenatal health for the poor and am VERY much against million dollar heroic efforts for critical newborns. And sure- I would want the money for MY newborn- but one doesn't let the minority screw the majority (imo). It is not rational.
