Well, as far as the internet is concerned, MSFT remains a non-starter.
I'd add ORCL's Raw Iron to the mix, and see how MSFT winds up contending with that.

Alomex, I think you should review this:

dis•as•ter n.
1.a. An occurrence causing widespread destruction and distress; a catastrophe. b. A grave misfortune.
2. Informal. A total failure.
3. Obsolete. An evil influence of a star or planet.

The items on your list are mere pin pricks to a sleeping bear:

>The MacOS.
>TurboPascal.
>The dismal initial Windows release.
>Novel NetWare.
>The release of DrDOS 6.0.
>The OS/2 fallout with their main customer and ally (at the time) IBM.
>Their initial neglect strategy towards the Internet.

Alomex,

Frankly, msft has failed on all of the points you mentioned but success by the majority (not that they are correct) has unfortunately been measured solely by how much money msft has made rather than the quality of it's products and as we all know now at the expense of its competitors by illegal, IMHO, and monopolistic practices.
