The market hates uncertainty--get the bad news out as fast as possible. It's better in the long run. Furthermore, if COMS had half a brain in their head, they would have saved some of that 5 cents they beat last Q numbers with for this quarter if they thought they needed it. Thirdly, COMS can take their "quiet period" excuse and shove it up their ass. I don't believe it for one second. Companies comment on their upcoming earnings all the time.
