I agree that one shouldn't engage in overkill, but as I watch the various shows, including Geraldo, I have observed no such tendency as you describe, and I have not seen the degree of viciousness you describe first hand. Even the two you mention are generally not so hyperbolic, at least since I've been on the thread.
