I applied for the ADSL service on my home phone by submitting the number I wanted to use on a Bellsouth web based application form. The response I got back is listed below and is the same response I got for the 4th phone line of the church I requested access for. Also, I was told by bellsouth marketing that they don't allow the adsl service connected to a lan.

>"Thank you for submitting your FastAccess ADSL Qualification Form on 5/20/98. On your form you requested a test of the following phone line(s) for ADSL service: 9x9-Barf-9453

Although your neighborhood is supported by FastAccess Service,
unfortunately the phone line(s) listed above do not support ADSL
technology. There are several reasons why a telephone line may not support ADSL technology including:

- location within a neighborhood is too far from the
phone company central office,

- physical makeup of a phone line does not support
ADSL data transmission,

- the presence of voice network equipment that blocks
the high frequency ADSL data transmission Any combination
of these items could have resulted in your line(s)not qualifying
for ADSL service. "
