Herbvic, first I wouldn't count on the consumer portable adding more than a few hundred thousand units. Portable's don't sell in large numbers to consumers - they sell to business customers. This will probably be targeted at education but that is a niche market. As regards surprises, sorry I still take SJ at his word - 4 hardware product lines which we will have by summer. The main unit sales will still be dominated by the iMac and G3. I'm not discussing software because the point I'm trying to make is that there needs to be clear, marketshare gain in order to keep consumers attracted to the Mac - otherwise we will begin hearing comments of a dying platform again which can lead to developer abandonment and the street reducing Apple's PE. Hardware unit sales is the measure that will be used. I agree Apple has to outsource - Eric once responded to me that Apple still had sufficient manufacturing capability but that doesn't appear to have been true. Apple apparently needs significant outsourcing in order to meet unit sales over 3M whereas it wasn't too long ago that they had 5M capacity. Rich
