OT Steve, Re >Well let's redesign the school bus for MAXIMUM safety...< That would be an excellent way to double costs in every district that buses a majority of their students with ZERO impact on test scores. Several districts in this area have stopped busing because they can't afford it and you want to make it even more expensive. When you are taxing me to educate YOUR children you bet it boils down to money, especially when that money goes to a government education system that fails way too often to educate. ABOLISH government schools and let the competition begin.

OT rewhy must everything boil down to money Oh I cant express how furious I am everytime I see that phrase when it is taxpayer money we are talking about. IF any individual wishes to spend his/her OWN money doing whatever for maximum whatever its fine but when MY money (and other taxpayers) are taken from me (or others) at gunpoint/ threat of jail/ asset forfeiture/ etc that money should be used for the only two Constitutional aspects of federal government: justice system and defense of the country both of which the gov does pretty lousy at and overspends at without achieving good results. Certainly money taken by force (taxes) should not be used for anything else and never anything that has no cost/effectiveness study attached. And yes I do have children, dont even ask. Freeus
