I would love to do that, but to my knowledge the only way to get the money out is if I leave the company.
I have tried before.

I guess the logic is that taking the money out is defeating the "pension" aspect of a 401k.

I know it can easily be rolled over when one leaves his/her job.

P.S. I have been whacked in the past on a 401k with a 40% tax and 10% penalty. It wasn't fun.
