Regarding the National Post and Taurus....

First off, I've been able to find out through a very reputible source that the margins on the recent trading card deal are at or above 70%.

Secondly, It must be noted that Taurus listed BII as a top "sell" candidate...they never had them as a "buy" to begin with.

Also, Taurus Capital is a 4 man operation...as the article put it, a "boutique broker". The companies in the article for which they issued buy recomendations on are companies from which they received money at some point for various services.....little bit biased aren't they? They don't mention in the report that they have never formally met with BII directors to review financial data.

Lastly, this source put it best when he said...Taurus Capital will be made to look like fools.....AGAIN.

We saw this before....and look what happened.

Frank

This guy Adamou is a joke period. He said Bid was a sell when it was under $3.00 in early December. This analysis was done without calling the company or obtaining current information. He was blasted by BII management and he was wrong. The stock went to $9.00 subsequently. Also in this article you posted :

"Mr. Adamou is recommending MCF as a strong buy for speculative accounts even though ...."MCF is still dependent on a small number of clients, the loss of which could materially affect its results." So why is he telling people to buy MCF and sell BII.. this is why .."Taurus Capital has undertaken some underwritings and merger and acquisition work.."

This is really independent analysis don't you think. Did he give MCF the courtesy of calling them..what do you think.

This guy is a joke IMHO. Follow him at your own risk

>>Re: your post which says Post says Bid.Com makes Taurus bearish - and your question - How if at all will this affect the short term ??<<

Short term - given no other information on the company's progress related to the building of their business model, I would say that this will have a negative impact on the share price. We may have already seen this negative effect reflected in today's price however. I believe that if Taurus has not contacted the company to review the impact of their diversified plan prior to issuing this statement, then they may vulnerable to some very public criticism (possibly even by Mr. Godin on Saturday when he is interviewed on Investor's Online).

Remember that Bid.Com's management have come out several times recently and stated that they are not hanging their hat only on the margins and revenue that they are obtaining from the on line auctions. Many of the surface comparisons to other auction companies in this area seem to omit or discount this fact. I believe that the potential revenue and margins in these other streams will be significant.

People have to recognize that there is a significant amount of pressure on all technology and Internet related companies. For example, yesterday 25 stocks that I have been following were all down. Today many were continued to be down. The smart investors all have targets where these stocks become attractive again. The trick will that if the prices are dropping, then a person has to choose which ones are good buys, and which ones are going good bye. Too often people only look to what is happening to one or two stocks and miss the big picture. I also believe that there is a real possibility that some good news is at hand related this company as it pertains to the progress they are making on their business model.

Today, I saw some good opportunity with this company and I added to my holdings. So Doug, this Taurus release may have actually helped me purchase this stock at a better price.
