Buddy, that is the kindest way I have ever heard anyone who doesn't stand for anything but his own greed for power described.

<<One positive thing about Clinton that too many conservatives hate is that he is willing to compromise and support legislation from both sides of the aisle. What a concept...>>

I have been asking all the clinton supporters what it is they admire about him for some time. You win the blue ribbon for effort. All the clintonites should copy and post that as often as possible.

Buddy,

Actually, I think that his greatest political
successes have been the fact that he takes
the best stuff from the Republicans, signs it
into law, and then claims it as his own. I
don't mind because if he didn't do that, we
would not have welfare reform, cap gains tax
cuts, child tax credits, immigration reform,
new crime laws against stealing identity, and
the line item veto (RIP, though).

If only he would steal the balanced budget
amendment and term limits, we would have
enacted all of the good points from the
"Contract With America" and truth, justice,
and the American Way would rule supreme. I
can almost smell the apple pies and baseball
games of my youth...

That's what got him into trouble in 1993-1995. He had to be rescued by bringing in Republican consultants and outside advisors. He only started remaking his image during the government shutdown in 1995. The House Republicans had essentially won most of that budget battle, and continued pressing the differences further rather than settle and declare victory.
