Hi Voltaire,

You sound like a knowledgeable person on Dell. I'm pretty new to dell and haven't really watched how it usually reacts after earnings. I have misplayed my dell options and now I am long the dell feb 85 calls and short the dell feb 95 calls. If dell expires above 95 I'll be thrilled. But I have a bad feeling that dell is going to test my stomach before expiration Friday. What course of action would you (or anybody else knowledgeable) recommend? I figure if dell goes down to 90 before earnings I may try to buy back my 95 calls if they are not ridiculously expensive (which they probably will be because of earnings coming out). After earnings the premiums should theoretically drop, but maybe the mm's will play games. I'm kind of unsure right here so right now I'm just holding on. I sure would breathe easier if dell would go back up above 100 but looks like 100 is now severe resistance. Selling those calls was not too smart a move. I should have just unloaded my position instead. Hopefully I'll get another chance to play the dell game. I agree that earnings should be great but in this environment I don't know what that means for dell's stock price.

Voltaire:

How do you feel about the Clinton deal being finalized tommorow? I think Friday will be our big day (pre-earnings runup and post-light spanking of the president). I predict everyone will be be feeling good and feeling safe, at least in Dell.
