Sounds like Cyrix/NSM wants to move away from the traditional PC markets where it is hard to compete with the likes of Intel/AMD, and focus on niches, such as set-top boxes, electronic appliances, etc. Could be "perceived" as good news for Intel/AMD...

Too many big mistakes like that could make Halla "sadder but unemployed". Cyrix has been a huge drain on National. I'm sure he is struggling to turn this sow's ear into a silk purse via targeting niches.

What's the deal with National's MediaGX Cyrix chips? Why are they so difficult to purchase? Can't find a National distributor that will sell them. Amy J
