Actually, a nice STBI report could help, a bad report people may just ignore. I for one would like to see a net increase in cash, lower expense ratio, and some nice sales numbers. I doubt we'll get too much in terms of consolidation given quiet period. Will be real curious to see how TDFX related sales have done - not expecting big news but some incremental gains would be nice. Joe C.

Here's a scenario I thought of this AM that has me a little (though not too) worried. I admit that I haven't thought it through too hard, so there are likely some things I hadn't considered when I thought of it.

Imagine that STBI reports blowout earnings. Stock demand pushes its share price ABOVE 0.65 of a TDFX share. For whatever reason, TDFX stock price doesn't respond in kind to STBI shares. Since it then becomes a bad deal, the STBI shareholders vote against the merger and the deal falls through.

I wonder what the chances are of something like this happening, especially in light of the fact that STBI has been trading so close to the 0.65 TDFX for awhile. Anyone care to analyze my little gloom and doom scenario and comment on it? Sun?
