Right, I was one of the people asking questions on the WOW thread.
I think both Equis and WOW are trying to force us to their own proprietary data vendors. That's just not a reasonable solution, IMO.

Right now metastock 6.52 reads the old format. What will stop it? The Jan 1, 2000 date rolling around?

That's what I'm trying to get a straight answer, from Equis, on. The first response I got from them leads me to believe that they'll interpret 1/1/00 in the old file format as 1/1/1900, even with the 6.52 update. I'm currently waiting for a response to my follow-up questions to them.

CatLady and Richard,

I helped Equis with their Y2K compliance testing - I set my computer clock forward and ran MSWIN and DLWIN for weeks, and everything worked fine (besides a few minor bugs that I reported and they fixed). This testing was part of the 6.52 upgrade.

I can't guarantee that Equis' products will work, but from my testing, it looks like they will. Also, be aware that Equis has no control over the data vendors and their Y2K preparations. Although, if your particular data vendor wasn't ready, I'm sure that one of the six would be working - imagine the windfall to them!
