It is the opinion of our gold anti-trust action committee that there has been a collusion by certain NY investment houses to hold the price of gold. We believe they have substituted a "gold carry" trade for the "yen carry" trade. We believe the total short position by these voracious shorts, and others, is as much as 3,000 tonnes. You know was well as I, if true, that cannot be covered in a short period of time. We hope to have an anti trust law firm under retainer in a few weeks to help us in our investigation. Barrick is the leader in the industry. Why do you not support us?. Why do you not cover your hedges that have realized hundreds of millions of dollars in profits? Why do you not do so and then tell everyone what you have done? Many other producers will follow and buy their shorts back too. The price of gold will rise. The spec shorts will panic.
