Anyone see part 2 of the CNBC report on the Fen/Phen lawsuits? Here are a few interesting facts they mentioned: Currently there are approximately 1,700 law suits filed. American Home Products has already settled many cases out of court but refuses to discuss any information regarding the amount they paid each plaintiff. Apparently they have each person who settles sign a confidentiality clause which does not allow them to reveal the amount AHP has paid them. They estimate that it is going to cost AHP approximately $4 billion in settlement costs to people who have suffered from the cardiopulmonary side effects of Fen/Phen.
